India Monsooned Malabar

REGION: Indian Monsooned Malabar, and most other Indian coffee is grown in the southern states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. To make the Monsooned Malabar the plantation ararbica is laid out in the open and is made subject to the monsoon winds and rains for around a week, then it is placed in bags and laid in a warehouse where it is exposed to the salt and sea winds during the monsoon season.

WHAT IT TASTES LIKE: Because of the process that these beans go through the taste of the cup is very unique to other cups of coffees. It has low acidity, but is rather salty and has a certain funk to the cup. This coffee is very individual in its taste and because of this there comes a love-hate relationship with it. Either you love it or you hate it, but it’s worth trying because of its rare taste.
